Gold trades near highest since end-July after dollar drops amid geopolitical tensions, including flare-up between Trump administration and Saudi Arabia, which may see U.S. officials duck the ˜Davos in the Desert™ investment conference in the wake of disappearance of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Bullion prices decisively topped $1,200 an ounce last week, with investments in ETFs and gold equities also rising. The U.S.-China trade war and uncertainty over Brexit are adding to the haven bid.
