Hong Kong stocks fall for second day

Hong Kong stocks ended Wednesday in negative territory following a sell-off on Wall Street fuelled by worries about the prospect of higher US interest rates.

The Hang Seng Index dipped 0.13 percent, or 41.83 points, to close at 31,110.20.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index dropped 0.71 percent, or 22.55 points, to 3,169.57 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, lost 0.41 percent, or 7.61 points, to 1,832.27.
